Waverly Midwest Horse Sale
Live and Online Auction
Auction Dates/Times: October 2nd, 2024 – 8:00am – October 3rd, 2024 – 9:00am – October 4th, 2024 – 9:00am
Location: 2212 5th Ave NW, Waverly, IA
Take in for items to be sold on the Machinery Lot.

AUCTION SCHEDULE:
Wednesday, Oct. 2 – Horse-Drawn Machinery,
Wagons, Buggies, Horse Trailers and Tack
Live Auction starts at 8:00 a.m. • Online Bidding starts at 10:00 a.m.
Due to this being a one day only sale, please check the website for a list of items being
accepted in the machinery lot. Junk items will not be accepted. If you have any questions,
please call the sale barn at 319-352-2804 and ask for Chris.
VIEWING ITEMS: Items will be posted online daily as they arrive. Check our website
daily for updates. The Machinery Lot will be open for the public to inspect items on Monday,
Sept. 30, and Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
BIDDING: Live auction and bidding will begin at 8:00 a.m. with 3 rings; simultaneous
online bidding will begin at 10:00 a.m.
ONLINE BIDDING TERMS: A 7 percent buyer’s premium will be added to the purchase
price of each item purchased online. All items you purchase must be settled for before
loading out. The usual sale terms and conditions apply.
TACK SALES AND HORSE PREVIEW:
From the Machinery Lot, starting at 8 a.m.: Misc. tack – saddles, harness, pads,
buckets, lines, etc. Tack will sell outside on the north side of the morton building from
the machinery lot. Most will sell off of hay racks.
The “Preview” of horses will be on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m. in the sale ring
and live streamed on our Facebook page. Anyone wishing to show their consign ments to the public at this time may do so. Buyers, here is your opportunity to view the
horses and to ask questions concerning the consignments.
Following the Preview of Horses: NEW tack will sell for approx. 2 hours in the
sale ring. We will be offering only new tack including misc. halters, lead ropes, saddle
pads and blankets.
Thursday, Oct. 3
Belgian, Percheron, Spotted Draft, Clydesdale, Shire,
Draft Cross Bred, Haflinger and Fjord Sale
Commencing at 9:00 a.m.
We will begin selling draft horses from the catalog. Belgian, Percheron, Spotted Draft,
Clydesdale, Shire, Draft Cross Bred, Haflinger and Fjord horses consigned in the catalog
will sell today. The same non-cataloged horses will sell after the catalog on Thursday in the
order they are consigned.
ALL HORSES AND MULES SELLING TO DRIVE BROKE MUST SELL WITH A HITCH
CARD. Hitching will continue from 7 to 9 a.m. for Draft Horses and Draft Crossbreds,
then from 9 a.m. to Noon for all other horses. Wagons for hitching will be available, but
no wagons will be allowed on the State and Federal highways.
All horses that will be sold on Thursday must be unloaded by 1 pm, including
consigned horses, or they will not be accepted for Thursday’s sale.
Friday, Oct. 4
Gypsy Vanner, Friesian, Saddle Mule, Dutch Harness,
Light Driving, Pony, Miniature and Saddle Horse Sale
Commencing at 9:00 a.m.
We will begin selling cataloged Gypsy Vanner, Friesian, Saddle Mule, Dutch Harness,
Light Driving, Pony, Miniature and Saddle Horses. Non-cataloged horses will sell in the or der they are consigned after the catalog is finished. All horses that will be sold on Friday
must be unloaded by 1 pm, including consigned horses, or they will not be accepted.
All horse-drawn carts and wagons driven in the sale ring must be offered for sale.
ALL REGISTRATION PAPERS FOR LIGHT HORSES, PONIES AND MINIATURES
WILL BE BETWEEN THE BUYER AND THE SELLER. Seller: You are responsible for
having your papers in order, current in ownership and a transfer signed correctly. Buyer: It
is your responsibility to look the papers over when you receive them and make sure they are
in order before you leave the sale barn.
Friday, Oct. 4 – Loose Pen
Approx. 3 p.m. we will have a Loose Pen. These horses (draft or light) can arrive any
time at our chutes before 1 pm on Friday, Oct. 4, be consigned and penned without the
owner staying to lead their horse through the ring.
